2017 Bylaws Amendment Vote - Members Only

Valued GASSA Members: 

In considering the overall mission and purpose of the Georgia Self Storage Association, your 2017 Board of Directors recommend the below changes to the current bylaws. These changes allow for more efficient governance of the association give the Board of Directors more capability for long term strategic planning.  

A vote of the membership is required to change the Bylaws.  

Voting Procedure: 

1. Using your member email and password, login to 'register' for this vote, and make your selection.  
   
2. Only one vote per member company is allowed.  
   
3. At least 95 ballots must be received by GASSA to meet the quorum requirements of 35%. 
   
4. A percentage majority (51% or higher) in the affirmative of all votes cast is necessary to adopt the amended bylaws.

The following changes are being recommended:

1. Modify length of term for directors. Full and Associate Member Directors may serve two, 2 year consecutive terms. Following the two, 2 year terms, Directors must take one year off before seeking re-election. 
2. Modify length of term and description of officers. Officers of the association are President Elect, President, Past President.  The term of office for Officers is 1 year. The Past President does not have a vote.
3.  Modify Nominations method. Nominations for directors and President Elect may be submitted by members in good standing, annually.
4. President Elect shall be elected by full members of the association. Following services as President Elect, the individual automatically moves to President, then Past President, without voting rights.
